A Little Perspective

Feeling a Tiny Bit Blue.....

Very Little has been accomplished this week in my Mini Worlds, Dear Readers, due in part to my being so busy recently telling Tall... I mean Tiny Tales, and in part to the inevitable challenges of the RL World! So I thought I would begin by once again putting this house in perspective by showing the Tree House in relation to The Folly! The Early morning Sunday Sun was shining on the Houses in just such a way as to light them with natural light.... and here is a closer view....

And if we zoom in even closer....

We see the kitchen and the Salon.....

Where our Little friends are enjoying the morning sunshine....

And the Library....
where the furniture has been removed while the Ceiling is under construction!
It is not yet Finished, Dear Readers, in fact,
the Sum Total of the accomplishments can be seen in the photo below....

If you look closely you will see I have added a black chain to the Tiffany lamp......

And have started to make the Brilliant Blue and golden star studded ceiling....
which I will show you even though it is far from finished!
This ceiling is inspired by the Sainte Chapelle in Paris....
but also by a ceiling in a Church visited by Two of my Dear Blogging friends....
who posted about it last Spring.....
where you can read about this BLUE that I Love so much....
And More of This Blue can be viewed Here.....
All of which reminds me of my Other Blue Ceilings that are still unfinished....

In the chapel of my Castle Dollhouse.....
which Samuel Whiskers and Anna Maria are Visiting....

 Having heard about this Blue......
Oh, This Blue, this BLUE.....
I So Adore this Blue....!

As you can see, I still have quite a bit of painting to do to complete this ceiling.....
(and the Larger scale Projects are Calling to me... !)

Anna Maria and Samuel Whiskers are either admiring the Ancient Art.....
Or looking for a New Home....

And I am thinking Blue.....
Tiny little Bits of Blue....
Studded with Glitter and Golden Stars...

That somehow I can Never get enough of....

Just a Little bit of Blue.....
And a Little More Perspective!

  1. The blue ceiling is fabulous, I love it!

I completely understand about being busy in RL, I feel like I have been away for the past four weeks, life and the changes of life have a tendency to keep us busier than we would sometimes like to be. Less time for play! ;)

  2. The blue is beautiful, it reminds me of lapis. I know what you mean about RL too, that is why I like winter when things slow down. I look forward to seeing more of the tree house :)

  5. Dearest Betsy, I took my time looking at your wonderful mouse world. Musing and in wonder..if I should be feeling a little blue, what better way to cheer myself up than to come in here, enjoy the sunshine and the rewards of hard work, listen to the loveliest ancient songs.

And what a tribute you have paid to the Mariacki Blue with those ceilings. Beautiful, glorious and the most magnificent tribute, my friend!

So every time you feel a little blue, come in here and look at the wonders you have created, then pet yourself on the back, sip a little tea and smile the brightest smile :) because yes, you are truly amazing :).

I could spend hours looking at your miniatures. I am just amazed by your painting skills. The ceiling are spectacular and you really created a wonderful chapel. The tree house is one of the most fun mini porjects I've ever seen. It is so warm and so welcoming. It's great tos ee such well executed, elaborate interiors in a tree. I can't wait to see more...I can nver get enough of that magic Betsy touch! Fantastic work !

  7. For a moment I was thinking about simply copying Giac's comment because he already said what I wanted to say... ;O) Don't worry about not getting too much done, since when do folk like us have a deadline... I love your blue - and maybe even a little bit more because it brings back memories of two darling ladies visiting me and one of them traveling on to another very darling lady to visit this incredible, stunning blue church...

    Greetings

  9. What a gorgeous mouse house!! Instantly I was drawn to the blue ceiling with gold stars then totally blown away by the painting on the next ceiling. What wonderful work and "absolutely heavenly" is a perfect choice of words by John.

  12. Hi Betsy,

It's nice to see the two projects together, gives a real sense of perspective, and shows just how TINY you tree house is! I love the blue ceiling in the library, which looks perfect in situ! And the painted ceiling in your castle is amazing!

  13. Betsy, I hadn't realized how stunning the ceilings in the Castle Chapel are! They are exquisite. And yes, I love the blue, the wonderful blue, that lapis blue that also glows from the ceiling of the library. When I was a little girl I used to love a doll house shop a few towns away, not just because of the doll houses, but because of the other rooms of the shop. It had been a real life cottage before it was turned into a antique shop and a mini store later. There was a long room that had a blue ceiling with painted gold stars, a pretend sky. I wanted my first home to have a painted star sky, but, of course, I had to deal with popcorn ceilings. We should pay more attention to our ceilings. We look up when we're falling asleep, or day dreaming, or resting, or thinking. Why not give our imaginations a place to play, like you have?
