Late to the Party.....
I am Sure that Some of you, Dear Readers, have been wondering about how Quiet it has been over here on this blog, with no updates about the Christmas Card (still not finished), no views of the Tiny Secret Christmas House with all the gifts under the Tree (still not completed), and no invitation to The Castle for a New Year's Party (alas, there was none) all due to the unplanned and unwelcome spell of "Under the Weather" also known as the flu which laid me low for the past ten days. Alas, I was forced to abandon all my best laid plans and retreat to my bed for days on end. And to top it off, we have been enduring record cold weather, snow storms and ferocious winds in this part of the world, leaving us feeling rather besieged! I was even too weak to take my camera around to visit all my mini worlds, and so I have almost no New Year updates to share with you. But I am sure you will be happy to hear that I am on the mend and even returned to work today, so maybe I will get caught up soon with all my lagging projects! Better Late than Never! And speaking of Late.... the box of gifts that Birgit sent to me way back at the end of November, took an extra long time to get here... arriving the day after Christmas! I assure you, it's arrival was even more welcome having been given up for lost! As I am sure some of you know, Birgit is one of the most generous blog friends imaginable!
(Of course, my pictures were taken late at night so I hope you can see them at all!)
The beautiful cards and the calendar with
Rosey and Fluby through the year are all made by Birgit.
And I must tell you that the entire Cloud Palace Gang
was ecstatic that the Marzipan arrived after all!!!
(I apologize for the dark pictures....)
The entire gang gathered around for the New Year's Treat!
This is the delicate and world renown Chocolate Cloud Marzipan....!
The Beareys are particularly fond of it
because it reminds them of the Land of their Birth...
They try not to be too impatient....
but they eagerly await it at this time of year!
And this year there were a few other tiny gifts from Birgit...
including a lovely "china" horse and another "china" Pegasus....
Who decided straight away to fly up to the Cloud Palace
for some chocolate cloud Marzipan!
She said her Name is "Milkyway".....
And she hopes Nobeary minds if she crashes the Party!
Of course, all the Beareys are Happy to share!
Well, Dear Readers, I hope you will understand
if there is still no Christmas Card to show...
At least there Was a Cloud Palace New Year's Party....
with plenty of Marzipan....
All Thanks to Birgit!
Happy New Year!!!
Hi Betsy,
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear that you have been suffering from the flu but I can tell you are on the mend now that you have posted.
Glad to hear that your mini-world friends were able to celebrate New Year even though I suspect you did not.
Hope the weather eases as well very soon.
All the best for the New Year.
Janine
Heureux d'apprendre que vous allez mieux.
ReplyDeleteBonne année Betsy, pleine de créations.
good recovery!
ReplyDeleteBirgit's wonderful gifts have no doubt helped you heal, it's beautiful
Happy New Year
Hello Betsy,
ReplyDeleteI am happy to hear that you are better, but so sorry your holidays were not what you had hoped. You will have to celebrate twice as hard next year. Birgit is wonderful and the figurines she sent you are lovely.
Take care of yourself.
Big hug
Giac
Hope you're feeling better and can shake off the remaining dregs from the flu. Relax and recover. The flu version of R&R.
ReplyDeleteMaybe the worst thing about being sick is the behind you get. Do remember that falling ill is meant to be a message: "You have been over-extending yourself!"
ReplyDeleteI'm glad the bearies got their marzipan.
Lots of love,
Mom
Hi, Betsy - I'm so happy to hear that you are indeed on the mend from that long bout of the flu. Birgit sent such nice gifts - what a pretty Pegasus and horse! I'm glad that the Cloud Palace Gang enjoyed their New Year's celebration with the Chocolate Cloud Marzipan. I hope that you, too, can enjoy the beginning of the new year - even though you're getting a late start.
ReplyDeleteMarjorie
I'm so happy to hear that you're feeling better Betsy! Hopefully the cold snap will be over soon, too!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year!
I agree that day after Christmas gift arrivals are just as nice to receive Especially when they come from the generous heart of Birgit! :D
ReplyDeleteAnd now the Beareys get to celebrate Christmas and New Years all over again thanks to the arrival of the yummy Chocolate Marzipan from "the land of their birth".
Yet I have no doubt that the Beareys, your mom, as well as all of us are in blogland are agreed that it is much nicer to have a Healthy Betsy than otherwise, so DO take care of yourself and may the rest of 2018 find you back On Top and able to weather any other ill wind which might come your way.♥

I'm so happy to finally see a new post from you!!! Knowing that you were sick I was eagerly waiting for a sign from you. It's great to hear you're on the mend - but I have to join the choir saying: Take good care of yourself and give your stressed body the time to regain strength. And I can only repeat how happy it made me when you told me my little Christmas greeting had finally arrived. Just imagine all the furry ones would have missed their marzipan! *trembles-in-terror* What fun to see everybeary as having a wonderful party... and no surprise Milkyway was more than welcome in the Cloud Palace.
ReplyDeleteGet well soon and stay warm! Hugs
Birgit
Sorry to hear you have not been well. Having been absent from blogland for the last couple of years I am going to have to find some time to catch up with everyone's blogs. Lovely to see the Beareys and Cloud Palace again.
ReplyDeleteSorry to learn about you being sick. Hope you are better now and wish you full recovery.
ReplyDeleteBirgit's gifts are always generous, created with love and wonderful. No matter how long it takes for them to arrive, it's worth the waiting.
Hugs, Drora
I hope you are now feeling much better and how lucky you are to receive all those wonderful gifts. I always enjoy looking at your pictures and learn a lot from the detail. Keep "creating"!
ReplyDeleteHope you're feeling better.
