Too Much to Do, Too Little Time....
It was one of Those Weekends, Dear Readers, when all the other projects in the RL World demanded most of my Time, so Precious Little got accomplished in the Mini Worlds! Spring has finally arrived with all the Garden chores and the beautiful Sunny mornings calling me outside. I am sure you know how it is! But I was able to work on the door to the bathroom in Rose Thorn Cottage! And I wanted to reassure Marisa over at Steinworks Blog, that I would not dream of forgetting the bathmat! It was high on my list of little details still needing to be done, so I got out my scissors and cut into a small infant romper with a velour texture and a cute pattern in pink and white.....
Of course, the bathroom is so small that the bathmat gets caught in the door when you open it, so you simply Must pick it up and hang it over the side of the tub when you are done bathing!
The morning sun was shining so beautifully that it filled the Cottage with a Rosy glow....
And even though the bathroom door/wall is not yet glued in place, here you can see how it will look when the bathroom is completed. That tiny room will be virtually inaccessible to all but the mini people, so I need to be sure it is well stocked before I attach the final wall!
And because that Morning Sunlight was calling so clearly, I had to take a tour around all the houses, just to see what still had not been done.....
The Folly is just as you last saw it,
except that Daphne is no longer staring into space.....
The little Rats are still awaiting progress on their Tree House.....
Which stands Patiently beside the Folly....
The Dressing Room beside the Bath is still unfinished.....
It still needs its window, and lighting, and furniture....
Not to mention the rooms above......
Here you can see both the dressing room and the toilet....
which also needs its light figured out....
And while we are inspecting bathrooms.....
The Folly bath is lit by the morning sun....
but it needs just about everything except the light!
And Pollyanna has been looking at the Bath
in The Lovely Old Dollhouse....
She thinks it could use all new fixtures....
and most importantly, a mirror over the sink!
Meanwhile, downstairs in the front Hallway,
the sun is shining in through the sidelights of the front door....
Lighting up the new Antique chair....
so like the one my family has been handing down for Generations!
Meanwhile over at the Castle, Father Alban is still contemplating
which Vision he should render next....
When perhaps he should make it his life's Work just to complete the chapel ceilings....!
Which were begun by his predecessor...
with whom he trained as a child....
so he knows the pattern of the stories intended on the unpainted portion....
He has been dreaming too long...!
And Will still contemplates the ancient wardrobe in the Castle Council Chamber....
He is busy buying up antiques for his shop "Otts And Ends"...
But we are not sure that he sees it at all....
Perhaps he is still trying to figure out where he stands with Daphne....
And what he should do about looking for her child.....
Because now that he knows, he cannot forget.
And let us not Forget the Conservatory......
Seemingly abandoned.....
But barely begun!
That Floor!
Made of mismatched tiles....
Still in need of so many more.....
The sun has not Forgotten..... and visits every Day...
Waiting for me To Find The Time to sit and make more tiles....!
Oh so many Projects!
And do you remember the Sewing Machine...?
I found Another one!!!!
Can you believe it???
(Can you even See it???)
It will have to have it's own Entire Project!!!
But it will have to have Patience.....
It will probably be quite some Time before I get to it...!
And Speaking of Patience......
Still Awaiting their Details......
When was the last Time anyone even stood in the Great Hall
and Gazed Heavenward...?
Ages and Ages Ago....!
In the Dark Ages..... Long Before the Sun Returned!
Oh that Sun!
Shining Its bright light on All my unfinished Projects.....
When was the last Time anyone even stood in the Great Hall
and Gazed Heavenward...?
Ages and Ages Ago....!
In the Dark Ages..... Long Before the Sun Returned!
Oh that Sun!
Shining Its bright light on All my unfinished Projects.....
Letting me know just how much there is to do.....
Like start to plan the Sink for Rose Thorn Cottage...
Which will sit under this window.....
Oh, Dear Readers, there is So Much to Do!
But whether there is enough Time or not......
We Have to Love it when the Sun Shines In!

I love your houses, all of them, ready or not. It is good to see them in one sunny post! :) And of course I can't wait to see the progress of each and every of them! But for now enjoy your Spring weather!

Hello from Spain: Fabulous bathroom. I'm looking forward to seeing the finished dressing. Great job. Keep in touch
ReplyDeleteI like seeing your sunny pictures of all unfinished projects, Betsy, there is so much to do for you. Although I just have two projects (I am sure that it will never become more, due the lack of space) but it is very recognisable for me ;)!
ReplyDeleteI love your little bathroom, it looks so wonderful and cosy there, even like it is tucked away in the corner of the house.
For me it is the same: the sun is here and last week I have done lots of work in the garden, but now I have to stay inside because of my heavy hay fever, the temperatures are too high for this time of the year and there are lots of pollen in the air......but now I can try to make new miniatures, isn't it :D!?
Hugs, Ilona
I always love so much looking at your pics because of your choice of colours! Everything looks so enchanting! You have such a knack for putting colours together. Your work is absolutely unique!
ReplyDeleteHi Betsy, sometimes it's hard to juggle the work in and around the REAL house and the mini house. There is nothing beter then having a cup of tea outside in the morning sun. Love the pictures you took, the natural light really compliments the pictures and the house, it really gives it this realistic feeling. Hug AM
ReplyDeleteUnder the sunlight the art and sensitivity becomes more evident. I'm a fan of your work. Congratulations for posting this.
ReplyDeleteHello Betsy,
ReplyDeleteYes , there is so much to do, but honestly your work is so wonderful it looks amazing as is. The pictures of the Rose thorn are amazing. I swear I feel like I could walk through it in real life. It is so realistic! As for the other projects I don't think I could ever pick a favorite, but having made painted ceiling work I must say your saints blow me away. I just love getting pulled into the mini world you created...just love it!
Big hug my insanely talented friend,
Giac
Your houses are amazing. I like these pictures.
ReplyDeleteNo surprise the sun wanted to highlight your projects - every single one of them is beautiful and outstanding (although I have to say I was missing one house... *teehee*) It was great to see them in this "parade" of breathtaking photos... I must say I really envy you for being able to have so much space for having several projects in progress... I wish I would be able to do this, too... deciding what I'd like to do... paint a little more on the the saints or maybe add a mirror to a bathroom first? And before I forget to say this - the bathmat was the little dot on the *i* to bring your bathroom to life... ;O)

Preciosos rincones. Un saludo, Eva
ReplyDeleteHi Betsy,
ReplyDeleteI love that bath mat...it looks fabulous especially with the sun shining in. All of your projects (finished or not) are very lovely and inspirational. There is so much to do, but it is all so much fun, isn't it?
Have a great week,
Lisa :-)
The bathmat looks wonderful. I love all your projects finished or not :)

Your houses and projects are so wonderful to view. I really enjoy coming to your blog! Here is a great big hug for letting me know I am not the only one doing multiple projects and running out of "juice" before a project is finished and working on another! LOL
ReplyDeleteYes, so many things to do which equates to many hours creating wonderful minis. Lovely sun touched photos.
ReplyDeleteThe funny thing is, I used to think that the finish line was the point to doing things and making things. But I'm slowly finding out it's the journey that is the most important thing. And your line about having to make more tiles, well, the very idea that you make them, and it's not finished because you still have to make them---so many people in this world just go out and buy stuff made by someone else, but you make each one by hand, each one counts as minutes in your life. Yes! That's a beautiful journey.
ReplyDeleteBetter to have too many than too few projects!
ReplyDeleteLove,
Mom
These are just beautiful shots to show off your wonderful rooms of wonder! The sunlight adds such a wonderful depth to them!

Hello Daydreaming Betsy! Thank you for allowing us to revisit all of your wonderful projects that showcase just how ENORMOUSLY TALENTED you are!!! I am sure that each of your Dear Readers has their favorites and I know that I have mine, but when I see the sheer Volume of your ongoing projects and how each one is complex and so intimately detailed in not only the physical work but also the Story Told with Each.... well Betsy, I can only stand in complete Awe of all of the work that you do and cast my roses at your feet! :D
ReplyDeleteThe sun is kissing each of your little creations and the photos are fabulous! I love it when the sun is streaming through the windows! I read somewhere that "SUNSHINE IS ALWAYS IN SCALE". and where would our mini houses and homes be without it?
