The Wizard went straight to the Tower of the Castle where the Books of Lore and Scrolls of Secrets were kept. He had not been there in a VERY LONG TIME.... but he knew where he would find what he was looking for! He could FEEL in the Depths of his Soul the Discordant Rift that had opened in the Veils of Time.... and he knew he did NOT have very much Time to set it Right. But first he Must check his Ancient Scrolls..... they held the Magic of the Ages and would not betray him.....
they had a Long History together....
and he was pretty sure now what he would find...
and he was pretty sure now what he would find...

To the caves deep below the Castle.......

"You KNOW the Rules Slitherwing......." he said fiercely to the Dragon.
"You MAY NOT keep the child!"
his eyes glittering slyly....
"I was just trying to help......."

"Come, my child," he said.... "I will take you to where your Brother will find you!"
There was Prince! With the Castle horses!
Beatrice was VERY happy to see Prince!
She Believed Tommy would be here soon too!
The Wizard told her to STAY in the Stables until he came back with Tommy.
And then he vanished!

MEANWHILE, in the Victorian Times..... Caroline was still looking for Tommy and now she was also searching for Beatrice. She was getting annoyed, and MAYBE a little frightened too.... WHERE were they hiding? Then she remembered another door she had not looked behind.....

"Oh Aslan!" she said (that was what she named her toy)... "I am SO happy to see you!"
"You must be VERY Brave, my child" he said to her..... "You must go and wait by the Castle Doors until Tommy and Beatrice come to you! Stay outside where you can see the doors!"
And then he was gone.
"Am I dreaming....?" wondered Caroline....
but she did as he had told her and left to wait by the doors!

Meanwhile in the MODERN AGES....
Tommy was still trying to decide whether he was in the Right Castle or not! There were so many odd people here.......

At least I will not stand out in this place he thought.....
But he had NO TIME TO LOSE......
He could feel the Veils stretched too thin.......
And Danger Lurked........
He MUST find the Boy quickly and get him away.....

Joanna was concerned that no-one had arrived to claim him....
Where could his parents be? she wondered.....
and she set out to find him so she could ask him again who his parents were....
they hardly noticed him passing....

He would have to deal with that problem later......

By now, Tommy had found his way to the Stables.
He was SO Disappointed to find them Completely empty!

Who stopped him and asked him if he was ready to go Home....
"I just don't know HOW to find my way and I need my pony Prince...!"

"No he is NOT " said Tommy, "I have just been there and there is No-one there!"
"Well, THIS TIME he will be there " said the Wizard as he led Tommy back to the Stables...

"I knew I would see you Tommy," said Beatrice......
Tommy was too tired to even wonder why Beatrice was there...

He returned to the Castle where the party was still in full swing......

if done right,
NONE would remember the Boy....
nor Less than a Halloween Party at the Castle
"I thought I felt something..... Now I can't remember what..."
"Hmmmm?" says Pollyanna, dreamily....."What are you talking about...?"
"Like a Ghost walked past..." said Arthur....
"Well, it IS Halloween......." laughed Pollyanna.....
"And you ARE the Wizard..... so YOU should know!"
"I'm SURE there was Something..." said Arthur... gazing into the distance.....
THE END

Caroline Keeps Watch
That was Great!
ReplyDeleteI am so glad Tommy finally got home safe and sound. Your story was Awesome!!! I love all the shots and will be back to look at them again in the morning incase I missed a detail :)
Hugs,
Victoria
Thanks Victoria! Don't look TOO closely, I was racing to get it posted ahead of THE STORM.... afraid we might lose power and then I wouldn't get it done before Halloween! But the power came back on.... we have about 8 inches of heavy snow and lost a LOT of tree limbs! WHEW!
ReplyDeleteI was SO happy to be able to finally show your potion bottles....:) I really LOVE them!
But there are a lot of rough edges in the pics.... I get carried away with the idea and then don't have time to make ALL the details I would like....
I'm glad you liked it!
A snow already? WOW! Hope nothing wrong happened during the storm to you:)
ReplyDeleteThe story and the photos are absolutely fabulous! Love them to the bits!:) Pity it is over!:( But I hope to read the next equally interesting one soon!;D
I LOVED IT,
ReplyDeleteWhat fun. You really are a tremendous story teller. I'm sad it's over. Thanks for such an entertaining post and I look forward to more stories some day.
Tremendous!!!
Happy halloween,
Giac
What a wonderful story..I loved it!! And seeing all those wonderful photos of the castle was great!!!
ReplyDeleteHope you will tell another story soon :-)
Lovely story, and a clever blending of all your characters and houses. Brrrr!
ReplyDeleteHappy Hallowe'en; lots of love,
Mom
Someday I want to be saved by a lion. In a castle, of course, as wonderful as your castle. Magical, Betsey...
ReplyDeleteEight inches of snow! I was hoping your trees might have been spared-has the weather gone mad? We had 5 little tornadoes, flash floods, and torrential rain that wakes one up in the middle of the night. Is your snow still covering your beautiful Autumn?
LOVE IT! This was so awesome...hope a new tale is planned, soon.
ReplyDeleteHi Ewa! Yes, we got an Amazing amount of snow ....too much too early.... it broke so many trees and the power was out... it still is out in many places, but I am safe and have power. My back yard is full of broken tree branches... lots of work to clear away.
ReplyDeleteBut I'm glad you enjoyed the story!
Thank you, Giac! I'm really glad you enjoyed it!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Margriet! The stories are fun.... but Distract me from the Building part..... which is also fun.... so I try to keep ahead of these little people who are trying to take over my life....! As you know, there ARE more stories.... !I'm so glad you enjoyed it... and I do love to put the Castle to good use! One of these days .... or Years... it will be Finished and then I can Really show it off!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Mom! Glad you liked it!
ReplyDeleteHi Amy! (Careful what you wish for.....!)
ReplyDeleteThank you! I'm glad you liked it!
And yes, Snow.... and broken branches are covering up the Fall.... and the Fall is Falling on top of it all... WHAT is the weather doing to us???? My back yard is a MESS!
I hope you are safe.... Tornadoes and Floods are Scary business!
Thanks, John! I'm glad you enjoyed it!
ReplyDeleteI hope to get more Building done for a while.... but the stories sort of overtake things every now and then... so I'm SURE there will be more!
I spy with my little eye something familiar in the bowl scrive :).
ReplyDeleteAn elaborate tale in an elaborate setting with a little Lion, Wizard and fabulous wardrobe thrown in ! Seriously, Bets, pins and bunch of clothes? No way, your costumes are gorgeous.
And is it snowing already? Time really flies in Blogland.
